ABOUT

The term ‘outsider art’ was coined by art critic Roger Cardinal in the 1970s to describe art created by people outside the mainstream of contemporary art. These artists, often self-taught or with unusual life experiences, produce works that do not follow traditional aesthetic conventions and are not influenced by the dominant art movements of their time.
